The Process

• I offer a free half hour consultation so you can learn more about mediation and decide whether it is for you.
• All sessions are held with both spouses present.
• After the free consultation, sessions are 1 ½ hours long.
• We hold a structured discussion of all the issues that must be resolved, including parenting time, child and spousal support, and property distribution. Resolution of these issues typically takes 4 to 7 sessions.
• When all issues are resolved, I will draft a memorandum of understanding describing the agreement of the parties on all the issues.
• Each spouse takes to take the memorandum to his or her own attorney for review. The memorandum can then be incorporated into a divorce settlement agreement and the divorce filed in court.
• Charges are $240 per hour, $360 per 1 ½ hour session, payable at the end of each session. There is a $360 charge for drafting the memorandum.
